In sight: Maritime Women

Social, passionate, skilled, enthusiastic and driven, that's what these maritime women are! Photographer Anne Reitsma went out with a pilot, a crane operator, a surveyor in the offshore, a fisherman on the Wadden Sea and an entrepreneur in the towing industry. She photographed their work, sometimes early in the morning, at an improbable height or in the middle of the water. This photo exhibition can be seen for free from 7 March in the entrance area of the Maritime Museum.

In 2025, the Maritime Museum will pay ample attention to the many women in the maritime sector. Now, and in the past. In the past, women also worked in shipbuilding, inland shipping, in the port or on board.
