Jasmijn Vos, Project Manager
On this website, women from the maritime sector share their stories. This is the story of Jasmijn Vos.
What kind of work do you do?
I oversee the process of building new ships, from engineering through to delivery to the customer. It’s a diverse, challenging, and educational job. It’s never boring.
Does being a woman play a role in your work?
Sometimes. Older people with a wealth of knowledge and experience (who may have worked exclusively with men in the past) sometimes provide extra explanations. Perhaps because they think I don’t know it yet. Additionally, in some cultures, it’s sometimes seen as unusual for a woman to be in charge.
What do you like most about your job?
Connecting people, thinking in terms of solutions, and delivering a beautiful ship.
