Nuvara Uslu Erdonmez - Chartering Shipbroker at Rheintrans B.V.
On this website, women from the maritime sector share their stories. This is the story of Nuvara Uslu Erdonmez.
What kind of work do you do?
I work as a shipbroker (scheepsmakelaar in Dutch), coordinating the transportation of cargo by seagoing vessels to their final destinations. My role involves close cooperation with shipowners, terminals, logistics partners, and clients. No two days are ever the same!
I studied Economics at university, and my campus was located right on the Bosphorus. Every day, I took the ferry between continents to travel between home and school. Looking back, I truly believe that the seeds of my career in shipping were planted during those daily crossings.
What do you like most about your job?
I have always been good at organizing and connecting different pieces, and in this profession, everything comes together naturally. The feeling that I am in the right place and doing work that truly fits me, gives me a deep sense of satisfaction. That sense of purpose is what makes me happy at work and allows me to feel genuinely fulfilled.
